Cold Rooms & Walk-Ins

Thermally mapping a cold room or large walk-in chamber can be particularly messy when using a thermocouple based system.  The thermocouples must be fairly long (30 to 50 feet) so they can be fed from outside the chamber through the door way.  The thermocouples must then be installed into position using ladders or compression poles.  In the process, thermocouples can get damaged and  entangled with people or equipment.  Also, spending a couple of hours in a cold room is not a pleasant experience.

The Lives XpertLog wireless dataloggers are a definite advantage in this type of application. The dataloggers can be positioned  in 30 minutes or less. They can be mounted on compression poles or even hung from ropes using magnets (See picture below).

Lives XpertLog wireless dataloggers are constructed with Vitron 1000 thermoplastic material. The dataloggers are small, light weight and carry no heat load (as compared to stainless steel dataloggers).

The standard dataloggers have a calibrated range -60 C to 150 C. with an accuracy of +/- 0.1 C. The XpertLog software fully automates multi-point calibrations or verifications with existing calibration equipment ( i.e. LTR, CTR-80, IRTD).

In summary, Lives wireless dataloggers will save considerable time in this application compared to thermocouples (See chart)*.

* Note: The wireless dataloggers use very stable RTD sensors so  field calibration is not necessary. More time can be saved by performing a simple post verification.
